From Bali to Singapore: A Journey of Adventure, Wellness, and Connection

Stepping off the plane in Bali felt like coming home. Having attended the G Adventures Bali Wellness Trip for a few years now as a travel expert, I’ve come to appreciate just how transformative this journey is. Traveling with G Adventures, my friend Colleen and I embarked on another immersive adventure through this stunning island—one that blended adventure, relaxation, and deep cultural experiences. From the lush jungles of Ubud to the tranquil beaches of Nusa Dua, and finally to the buzzing metropolis of Singapore, every moment was packed with something special.

Swinging into Bali’s Beauty

The first morning, we found ourselves at the famous Bali Swing. To be honest, this wasn’t something that was ever on my must-do list, but Colleen was all in—and I’m so glad I joined her. There’s really not much to it beyond capturing breathtaking photos, but what a thrill! Dressed in flowing gowns that soared through the jungle, we felt like queens of Bali. It was a reminder to stay open to experiences, even the ones that seem a little touristy.

A Spiritual Awakening

Our time in Ubud was packed with meaningful moments. Visiting the Gunung Kawi Temple and participating in a purification ceremony at Tirta Empul was an energy shift I wasn’t entirely prepared for, despite having experienced it before. Every time I return, I find myself even more connected to the spiritual essence of Bali. The experience is deeply moving—there’s something powerful about immersing yourself in a tradition that has been practiced for centuries. It’s not just about the ritual itself, but the intention behind it.

We also spent time with a local village healer, an elder who has dedicated his life to helping others. The wisdom in his eyes was undeniable, and his presence alone was grounding. While in the village, we also learned traditional skills—how to open a coconut for survival, and even how chocolate is made. The simplicity and resourcefulness of Balinese life always leave me in awe, no matter how many times I visit.

Relaxation and Adventure in Pemuteran

Leaving the jungle behind, we made our way to the coast. Our stay at Taman Sari Bali Resort was a dream—waking up to the ocean, having a pool just steps from our door, and breathing in that salty air. One of the highlights was our boat ride to Menjangan Island. Snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, we swam alongside thousands of vibrant fish and even spotted sea turtles gliding effortlessly beneath us. The experience was surreal and, as always, a favorite part of this trip.

After a day of adventure, we treated ourselves to a massage, followed by an incredible dinner. The combination of activity and relaxation felt perfectly balanced—a theme that carries throughout this entire journey.

Exploring Nusa Dua: Waterfalls, Yoga, and Connection

Our next stop was Nusa Dua, where we checked into the stunning Sadara Boutique Resort. The past few days here were filled with movement and mindfulness—morning yoga, aerial yoga, and even some shopping in town. We also took a trip to Munduk Waterfall, one of the most breathtaking natural spots I’ve ever seen, and every time I visit, it takes my breath away.

One of the most special parts of this trip was reconnecting with my dear friend Sarah and her husband Michael. They’ve created the most incredible retreat property, and I had the chance to sit down and record a conversation with her about it. I’ll be promoting their retreat space for future group and individual retreats because, quite frankly, it’s too magical not to share.

A New Adventure in Singapore

After days of soaking in Bali’s beauty, Colleen and I parted ways with the G Adventures group and hopped over to Singapore. The contrast between the two places was stark—Bali’s laid-back tropical paradise versus Singapore’s sleek, modern cityscape. While it was a short stay, it was the perfect way to wrap up our journey.

Final Thoughts

Having done this trip several times now, I can confidently say that the G Adventures Bali Wellness Trip is one of my absolute favorites, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful, immersive experience. Whether it’s your first time or your fifth, Bali has a way of drawing you in, grounding you, and leaving you changed. I can’t wait to return, not just for my own adventures, but to help others experience the magic of this island through retreats and immersive experiences.

Until next time, Bali. You’ve left your mark on my heart.
